There and Back Again

With a new chapter already unfurling in my life, I figured that it was  apropos to actually start recording it in blog form. I just returned from an amazing first journey abroad in Japan, and am finishing up the long-ish paperwork process of obtaining a job teaching English in Korea – life overall is pretty exciting/scary/woah.

I’ve always felt that the first of something really sets the tone and has to be good. I’ve been contemplating where to begin writing down my story, and I don’t have a really clear idea of what exactly to share here and don’t want to limit myself. So generally this corner of the interwebs is to share the ups and downs of my journey, some travel adventures, and the myriad thoughts and artistic pursuits that vie for an outlet.

I’m no stranger to seeking out the personally unknown. At the headstrong age of 18, I packed my car with all my worldly possessions and moved across the country to California on the wings of a dream I’d held closely to throughout my teenage years. It was an exhilarating trip, and I’ve experienced my share of successes and failures living on the opposite side of the country from my hometown, family, and childhood friends. My life now is a bit different, it would not be able to fit inside the same four-door sedan. I say that literally as well as figuratively (oh how material possessions accumulate). At 26, my heart has been yearning for more adventure – to experience and see more of the world and to find my place in it.

Well, I guess that is an acceptable introduction – haha. I’m terrible at finding where to begin.

Wish me luck!
